Building Interactive Maps with JavaScript & Leaflet

Building Interactive Maps with JavaScript & Leaflet In-Person / Online

In this hands-on workshop, you’ll learn how to build interactive web maps from scratch, even if you’re new to web development. We’ll guide you step-by-step through:

  • Setting up your workspace – get your computer ready to create and view maps in your web browser

  • Understanding the basics of data and web pages – a gentle introduction to HTML, JavaScript, and CSS that make web maps work

  • Adding a map to a web page – create your first interactive map, explore its features, and learn simple ways to include maps in websites or React applications

The workshop is intended for beginners curious about mapping or data visualization, anyone interested in exploring geographic data, and no prior experience with web development or mapping required!

Please register to receive set-up instructions and access our Slack channel for support.
